Food was great, would have liked the sauce in the burrito instead of on it so I could eat it as a burrito, but delicious none the less. The vibes are incredible and the coffee is great. The staff was kind, efficient, and still chatted with regulars and friends. Made me remember how much I love cafes, will come here again.

We had a chance to visit here twice recently while staying in the area. It's a cute little neighborhood place with decent breakfast and smooth coffee with friendly services. Don't know where they got the baked goods but the blueberry muffins and scones are out of this world delicious. So moist with plenty of blueberries. Yum.

My favorite coffee in ALL of the valley! The cream they float on top of the coffee is so good! The way it pairs with the hot coffee is amazing! 10/10

Our son and his fiancee were visiting for Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we took a drive downtown and ended up in Hyde Park. The other two coffee shops were already closed for the day (at 12:30), and good for them. Java was still open, and very busy. We liked the energy, and the staff were very nice. It's a place where people come to just relax and hang out, and people just seemed to be enjoying themselves. I didn't get a drink, but my wife, our son, and his fiancee all enjoyed theirs. We will definitely be back.

Great people, awesome space, "to go" food served in paper/compostable containers, and they will take your reusable mug. We got the breakfast croissant for which they substituted the bacon for half of an avocado without blinking. They do still wrap to go food in a plastic bag and hand plastic straws, so perhaps something on which to work for the future. Lots of outdoor seating on the side and in front.

We hold these truths to be self-evident: that not all coffee shops are created equal. Indeed. Just as a body must choose what type of person she is, a Tigger or an Eyeore, a mountain gal or seaside sweetie, one must decide where to sip some java. I say do so at Java House. But that’s me. I dig a rock and roll vibe, and that’s what you get at the JH, in addition to quality brew of course. I reckon the same goes for coffee staff / baristas. Where to hang your hat? A self-congratulating glad house of mediocre coffee, served by a bevy of preppy girls married or pledged to some Mr. Wonderful, on the West Side of 13th street? Or, for a single young man or young woman, with a rebellious streak, who does god-knows-what in spare time, possibly something NOT APPROVED BY MOM... well, there’s a place called Java House. Come and be merry. Bonus: great location to work on your laptop. Dependable tank of water for the taking.. And hearty lunches that won't break the bank. Dig the sammy's for sho, sista... Hilarious decor, including risque bathroom prints and odes to heroes like Mr. Elvis Presley aka THE KING. He belongs here, and if you are artistic, with clear eyes and a full heart, you belong too. Pondered one-star deduction because No loyalty program.. I want to earn a free cup / and also show my allegiance. Gimme a Barqtoo... Disclaimer: the author has an annoying habit of ordering in a way that pre-empts the questions he knows the staff must ask. i.e. “I’ll take a 16-ounce cup of Medium Roast with a little room for milk. Nothing else.”
